Biography

Born in Baltimore, MD, 1999. Raised in New Paltz, NY. -- Solace Bowden, aka Saul Alone when singing, aka Happiest Kid In the World when rapping, has been a producer and instrumentalist since 12 years old. Self-taught on piano & drums while okay on bass, SOLACE started his journey on January 16th of 2012, making Dubstep, Complextro, and Drum & Bass with an underground site named Audiotool, which served as both a social network for producers *and* a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Though SOLACE gained quite a following of Audiotool's EDM lovers for his catchy bass music, along with a large circle of producer friends both on and off the site, eventually he sacrificed his party-music direction and reputation to pursue a more unique, serious, and personal vibe by the end of 2014. This decision shifted his fanbase from trend-enthusing surface fans to people that are specifically into his experimental and quirky yet subtle, mellow niche. From 2015 to 2017, SOLACE released 17 hazy instrumental projects, all with a trademark Lo-Fi sound described by his peers as comforting, melancholic, nostalgic, refreshing, down-to-earth, and otherworldly. Since 2018, his gaps between albums have only become longer as he experiments in making projects all sorts of ways: From Audiotool, FL Studio and Ableton to even hardware such as the sp404, Pocket Operator K.O., OP-1, Digitone, ES-2... you get the deal.
