Biography

Nadine Henrichs (*1984) received her first violin lessons at the age of 11 years with Marie-Luise Jauch in Hannover. After graduating from secondary school with her Abitur, she entered the Musikhochschule Münster to study with Professor Martin Dehning. It was here that she first got acquainted with „Historically Informed Performance“, which fascinated her so much that after gaining her first diploma in 2008, she transferred to the Hochschule für Künste Bremen to concentrate on studying the baroque violin with Professor Thomas Albert. After receiving her second degree in 2011, she stayed with Thomas Albert for another year to study the classical violin. Since her first studies, Nadine has always played the viola with great passion in various chamber music projects. In Bremen, she started studying the baroque viola intensively, and with this CD she has fulfilled a long-standing dream: starting an attempt to elevate the baroque viola from its ridiculed niche existence. She plays as guest and member in several ensembles, i.a. „Societé Lunaire“, Berlin and „Ensemble Odyssee“, Amsterdam, as well as „Vox Luminis“, „Concerto Köln“, „Freiburger Barockorchester“, „Ensemble Le Phénix“, „La Cetra“ and „Capricornus Consort Basel“. Nadine plays her own baroque viola, built in Vienna in 1775 by Johann Georg Thir.
