Jay Da Deejay, also known as Jayrique Harwood, is a young Amapiano artist from South Africa (Johannesburg). The artist began his musical career at a young age. As a child, the artist wished to play an instrument such as a saxophone or a keyboard. He enjoyed listening to fusion and jazz, which his grandfather had introduced him to when he was a child. The artist was introduced to virtual DJ in 2014 and desired to become a Deejay. He was always making his own mixtapes. In 2019, the artist began producing and joined the music group 'Thee Exclusives'. He was influenced by artists such as Calvin Fallo, Josiah De Disciple, Kabza De Small && Mdu Aka Trp, and his elder brother, DJ Jomling. He left Thee Exclusives in 2021. Jay Da Deejay is now a solo performer. In the year 2023, he recently signed a contract with Phutur Kidz Ent. Jay Da Deejay's goal is to inspire people by creating good music of a great genre that they can enjoy as much as we artists do; my goal is to ensure that people of our generation understand and feel connected to the songs I create on a deeper level.
