Anthony Maintain cut his teeth in the bustling indie hip hop scene of Boston, MA in the early 2000's. For a decade plus he fronted The Locksmiths, in the classic duo format of MC and producer (alongside beatsmith, Cozmos), releasing three albums between 2006-2010 before parting ways, but after relocating to Austin, Texas. Maintain dove head first into live instrumental performance with ATX experimental beat crew Exploded Drawing, and in 2013 released his solo instrumental debut, The Elephant Race, on (iN)Sect Records. After years of honing his skills on samplers, drum machines, and laptops, Anthony felt the pull of writing and recording lyrics once again. His live show evolved into a one-man-band act featuring both instrumental and vocal songs, often playing live beats while rapping, with the occasional spoken-word piece.
