A solo artist from the UK, SOTABOS started in 2012, with the release of the Magic Forest EP. A guitar driven lo-fi art metal sound has stayed with the band ever since. Based on This evolved the tone of the music and progressed the style. SOTABOS made the Outlander EP soon after, as a 3 piece band which went on to play a mostly improvised live set at the Chameleon, Nottingham, as a 2 piece. Then in 2020, The Best of SOTABOS was released. This compilation album consisted of a variety of material, including new tracks. In 2021, The Mystic Way used soundtrack material from the film, The Point of Circles: Visions of Experience, together with new music. In the same year, Whilst Other Things Happened was made and released in a short space of time. New and unreleased music would form the year's third album, Vitus Et Novum Cantus. 2022 saw Nebula, Soul Doctor and the Future Ruin EP present a bigger sound that is closer to what SOTABOS has always been trying to achieve. Followed by Forward Nature and Serendipity, which used the latest new material together with recordings made over the previous 3 years to form an album comprised of outcast and strange songs. 2023 was a productive year, with A Drop in the Ocean, TAO, Welcome Home, The Best Of SOTABOS Volume 2, Excuseless, Dismay and Let Sleeping Dogs Lie released. 2024 has seen Didn't Exist, Solitary Peril, Flower of the Mind, Imprisonment, All Is Reason For Melancholy and A Way From Danger released.
