Hailing as the first Excision Bass Music Initiative finalist, ZIZl is fleshing out his own style, comprised of intricate melodies and funky basses while maintaining a nostalgic but fresh sound. Ever since his 2020 breakout track, "Suicide Love Song", he has been working diligently to fine-tune his sound and managed to gain the support or attention of various artists like Ace Aura, Infekt, Subject 31, AFK, Sweet Tooth, Cromatik, Chime, Maurada, POgman, and Excision. His music incorporates elements from various genres both in and outside electronic music, inspired by musicians like Hans Zimmer, Yoko Shimomura, ODESZA, Daft Punk, Quiet Bison, Flume, Porter Robinson, Jon Bellion, Madeon, Svdden Death, Space Laces, and Leotrix. ZIZI has and continues to strive to spread a message of universal love, mindfulness, and being present to make the most of what little time we have within our lives. As an openly gay musician, he also hopes to inspire more LGBTQ POC to relentlessly pursue their musical passions against any odds and not let a history of underrepresentation within the electronic music scene discourage them from unleashing their full potential.
