Finnish guitarist Janne Lehtinen works as a freelance guitarist and he is now mainly focusing on the latin-american and spanish repertoire. He plays concerts and has recorded his programs on his record label Kistu. He is currently recording new programs for only digital distribution. Janne Lehtinen studied classical guitar with Kari Äikäs and had the diploma in Sibelius-Academy in 1983. After that he attented on master classes of Jorge Morel, John Williams and Jorge Cardoso. Janne Lehtinen has worked with musicians like Jorge Cardoso, Juan Falu, Gustavo Nasuti and John Zaradin and has recorded their music and performed it live. He has also invited them to perform in Finland and played on their festivals in Argentina and France. Janne Lehtinen has recorded several albums with his guitar duo partner Pentti Hilden. The duo started performing when both Lehtinen and Hilden studied in the Sibelius-Academy in Helsinki.. Lately Lehtinen has performed f.ex latin style concertos with the Collegium Musicum Lohja string orchestra and chamber music from Argentina with the musicians of Aurinko, a group based in Helsinki area. In 2023 Janne Lehtinen worked together with the Aurinko society to present the first Festival of Latin Amerincan Guitar in Helsinki. The venezuelan cuatro player Eduardo Ramirez Castro was the festival’s main artist this year.
