Biography

Javier Arias is a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, where he was the repicient of the Lincoln Center, Loeb and Cohen Memorial scholarshps. As founder of the Amernet String Quartet, Javier Arias was awarded the First Prize at the Fifth International String Quartet Competition in Banff, Canada, the First Prize and Gold Medal at the International Music Competition in Tokyo, where he also received the Asahi Special Prize. He was also the winner of the the Grand Prize at the National Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in the USA, and the First Prize at the Chamber Music Competition in Yellow Springs, USA. As well, Mr. Arias won the First Prize in the National Competition for Young Artists in Mexico. Javier Arias has been a soloist with various musical groups, such as the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Fine Arts Chamber Orchestra of Mexico, Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, EAFIT Symphony Orchestra, the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. As a chamber musician, Javier Arias has regularly performed throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe Asia, and has given concerts in summer music festivals such as the Mostly Mozart, Ravinia Rising Stars, Interlochen, Tanglewood, Newport, Rockport, Festival de la Ciudad de México, San Miguel Allende, Xalapa, Veracruz, among others. https://javierarias.net Contact info: javicello@gmail.com
