Well it’s been a minute! August 2023 and I’ve just claimed my Spotify Artist Profile after a long break from the music scene. You might remember me from Angel City At 19, I signed my first contract with Ministry of Sound. The break through first single Love Me Right (Oh Sheila) (feat. Lara McAllen) - Extended Mix was released in 2003 and stayed in the UK charts for 10 weeks. A selection of singles including DO YOU KNOW (I go crazy) were released in the UK between 2003 and 2006 and this project took me all over the world with a highlight being LOVE ME RIGHT entering the Billboard Chart in the US. But it wasn’t an easy ride. The industry could be quite dark for a young artist at the time. Although my record label was wonderful, a predatory producer made me feel constantly intimidated and vulnerable. I quickly learned that you had to toughen up to survive. Naturally a very warm hearted, gentle soul, I found it all very overwhelming. When my time with Angel City ended in 2008 I made the decision not to pursue music further apart from finishing a few writing projects I was working on. In 2023 I decided to start recording again but this time on my own terms, taking that scary step to open my soul up to others through writing music. I nursed my grandmother for two years until she passed away last month and with that chapter of my life closing I just felt like life was too short not to do what I love. Fear of failure is not a good enough reason not to try 💙
