FACUNDO ESTEFANELL is a Uruguayan bassist. His music comes from a fusion between the improvised language of jazz and inspired by classical music, tango and candombe. At the age of 18, he moved to Montevideo to continue with his classical musical training, and this is where he began to participate in many concerts and gain prominence in the local tango and jazz scene. He as collaborated with artists such as Hamilton de Holanda, Hugo Fattoruso, Yamadu Costa, André Mehmari, Tomas Improta and others. He also participated in the Orq Sin Sodre, Orq das Américas, Orq Cesgranrio, Orq Sin Teatro Municipal RJ. Recently, he started working on his first album, “Tape”, and despite his youth, his extensive research and vast experience in his instrument led him to compose songs based on his most recent experiences. musicals, which include shows throughout Brazil, Canada and the USA. He mixes the freedom of jazz with all the swing of candombe, an Afro-Uruguayan percussive rhythm, putting Brazilian textures in a cosmic fusion of new ways of interpreting music. Using classical techniques in jazz, showing a world of possibilities to be played by the sound of the acoustic bass.
