Haraldur Thrastarson is an Icelandic composer and sound designer based in Berlin. A multi-instrumentalist and a choir conductor, his output focuses primarily on film where he explores the sonic boundaries between scoring and sound. Haraldur has scored numerous features and short films that have premiered at leading festivals around the world like Berlinale, Palm springs and Locarno film festival. His collaborators in music include Viktor Orri Árnason, Yair Elazar Glotman (a.k.a KETEV) and Herdís Stefánsdóttir. Film-scoring remains present in his autonomous output where his music has been described as transitory, lingering on thresholds between a fragile tactility and the superimposed emotive direction. Existing in the liminal movements between scenes of everyday life.
