Biography

Robert E. Livingood plays genre bending dance music to liberate the human body. He has performed at electronic music festivals such as Shambhala, Burning Man, and Basscoast, as well as at leather bars, warehouse parties, and secret forest raves from Los Angeles to the Yukon Territory. Robert's DJ sets reflect his love and lifelong involvement in underground music which dates back to his first exposure to fringe culture during the 1970s, in his home city of Detroit. The music he plays ranges through the territories of house, techno, minimal synth, Miami bass, new wave, and disco. For music production, Robert uses vintage synthesizers and field recordings taken in nature to create experimental dance tracks and ambient pieces enveloped in smokey atmospheric layers of sound. Robert's music has been released on renowned labels around the world such as Emerald & Doreen (Germany), The Black Lodge (Los Angeles), Ombra INTL (Berlin), Underground Pacific (San Francisco), SAMO (NYC), Dead Channel (KY), and Sons of Traders (Berlin). In his youth, Robert promoted underground music and art events in Detroit's Cass Corridor. Now he resides in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada where he is a central figure in the local dance community with residencies at Dose Prodoction's beloved Antidote Party, and Sound Lobby.
