With an interest in music that reaches across genres, producer, musician and vocalist Akeda Keyz is a talent that leaves nothing behind. As a producer, he’s been part of some of the most successful St. Louis projects to date, including a joint EP with the rapper Jerei, entitled Jiggy Keyz in 2018. That was followed up with production on Jerei’s debut album, Groovy Blues, and work that also includes production of the 2019 breakout LP yelloW for rap supergroup noWhere. Now, Keyz is focusing his talents on his own sound. With the release of his single Wanderer, Keyz takes his listeners to the creative and songwriting side of the producer. It’s a cool, melodic and wavy track, detailing what Keyz describes as being a person without a true place to call home. It’s a sound much different from the music Keyz produces for the artists he works with. Wanderer is a preview to the music Keyz makes for himself as an artist. His influences include Pharrell and Timbaland, two producers who have risen to legendary status using multiple talents, including production, playing instruments and being vocalists on their own tracks. Akeda Keyz is an artist with a sound that takes on Alternative Hip Hop, R&B, Trap, Reggae and Rock.
