Elana Sasson is an Iranian/Kurdish American vocalist and musician born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her music breathes new life to the sacred traditions of music from Iran and Kurdistan through contemporary arrangements and original compositions that oscillate between east and west, traditional and contemporary, inspired by jazz and Latin rhythms. Her voice contains a rare purity and strength that captivates audiences with its rich emotional content. She has trained in classical and regional music of Iran with master musicians Mahsa Vahdat and Marjan Vahdat, and holds a M.M in Contemporary Performance and Production at Berklee College of Music.
