Biography

Award-winning Duluth-based musician, author and storyteller Teague Alexy is probably best known for his Americana songwriting in the hard-touring brothers duo Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Teague’s songwriting is clearly influenced by Minnesota, his childhood in New Jersey and life as a traveling musical hobo. Teague's storytelling has deeper roots to his Irish ancestry. His birth name, Teague, was once used to describe the storytelling poets who traveled ancient Ireland. Recently, Teague joined with Erik Berry (Trampled By Turtles) to record an album of Irish traditionals called "Irish American." Earlier in 2017, Teague released the powerful "Circuit Sessions," produced by Eric Pollard (Actual Wolf) and Steve Garrington (Low). The companion music to Teague's 2015 book "The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers &amp; Thinkers" is available on Spotify, including the twelve minute epic "The Wisdom of King Joe Colli" featuring Alan Sparhawk, Charlie Parr and Nicholas David. Teague's critically-acclaimed 2012 album "This Dance" was produced by Erik Koskinen. Be sure to check out Teague's "Wisecracks &amp; Roadside Flats" podcast and series of short stories available on Amazon Kindle. <br>
