Erwin Gutawa A well-respected Indonesian musician, composer, songwriter, conductor, and orchestrator. Starting his career in the 80s as the bass player of fusion-jazz band Karimata, he became one of the most trusted music producers for Indonesia's big artists such as Chrisye, Krisdayanti, Ruth Sahanaya, Afgan, and Agnez Mo. In 1993, Erwin founded his own orchestra “Erwin Gutawa Orchestra” and continues to become one of the top orchestra in Indonesia, known for its openness to various music genres, epic music performances, and a handful of viral videos on Youtube. In total, Erwin has also won 36 AMI (Anugerah Musik Indonesia - Indonesian equivalent of the Grammys) awards, and collaborated with world-class orchestras, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Synchron Stage Orchestra in Vienna, and The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Erwin has released a few albums in his name, including "Orkestra" (2001), "Salute To Koes Plus / Bersaudara " (2004), and "Rockestra " (2006). And in 2021, he released another masterpiece entitled "SYMPHONESIA", showing his expertise in orchestral music.
