Saxophonist, composer, educator. Andrzej Olejniczak has taken part in countless international projects, performing at almost all festivals in Europe and all over the world (e.g. Milan, Paris, Montreal, San Sebastian, Lima, Marciac, Quito, Kuweit, Warsaw, Franfurt, Krakow, Praga). His discography includes about 70 albums . In Poland he was a member of the most important jazz groups, Extra Ball, Sun Ship and String Connection. After leaving for Spain in 1984 he started working with a world class jazz musician Tete Montoliu . In 1986 he performed with Gerry Mulligan at San Remo Jazz Festival, and two years later he played with Kenny Drew Trio at Festival de Jazz de Lorca-Murcia. In 2017 he performed with the Chick Corea Trio (Corea, Gómez, Blade) in the NOSPR concert hall. Also in 2017 he was appointed Ambassador of the Zdunska Wola culture, which is his hometown. His latest quartet which included the most important Polish musicians , performed at concerts and festivals in Poland at Warsaw Festival, Krakow Jazz Festival, in Spain at San Sabastian Jazz Festival, Getxo Jazz Festival, Jaca Jazz Festival and also in Canada in Vancouver. The newspaper, Gazeta Wyborcza said: The music of the quartet always suprises the listeners with its imaginativeness and sophistication. Olejniczak playing the saxophone represents musical freedom, which, in each piece, lets him create fantastic well-thought-out sounds and improvisations, delightful in their perfection.
