An Afro-World artist with a deep music heritage, traced back and brewed in Mozambican but honed in South Africa, Wanda Baloyi can be described as a 'cocktail African' and Neo-soul singer – given her Lusophone and Anglophone upbringing, with sprinkles of Zulu, Shangana and Buitonga languages. Brought up in a music family, whose father Jaco Maria, carved a name for himself as a lead vocalist for the 1980s group Ozila. It was inevitable that a music bug was never going to spare Wanda Baloyi and she soon joined the award-winning kwaito outfit called Ghetto Luv, released by Ghetto Ruff. Her burning sensation to pursue her own sound pushed her to finding strength and courage to go solo, Wanda Baloyi released her debut album Voices, under Universal Music, and scooped the Best African Arrangement at the Kora Awards, two SAMA nominations and a Channel O Music Video Award nomination. To date Wanda Baloyi has performed at several international festivals and she has toured the country to promote the Love & Life project. The project landed her an international remix to one of her songs titled KISSES which was remixed by the legendary Louie Vega and gained international/global release in 2015. Wanda has then gone on to collaborate with RJ Benjamin on a soulful hit titled Dali Wami in 2016. The year 2017 presented her a great new musical direction that would land her the opportunity to work with THE RHYTHM SESSIONS and have collaborated on a master radio hit NO LOVE.
