Singer/songwriter Devan Wright, also known as Dev, makes contemporary pop music with hints of hip - hop and soul. Born in March, Cambridge In 2001, Devan grew up focusing his love on dance and wanting to become a backing dancer for performers. However, his choice was soon directed at the age of 12 when he participated in a school musical called “Grease”. After his theatrical performance he soon learnt that there was space for him in the music industry. He began writing songs at the age of 12 and since then progressed to learn instruments to accompany his voice. After school Devan enrolled into the music program at Hertfordshire College Of Music where he started to build the foundations for himself in the new vibrant music scene. This is where he wrote and recorded songs like ‘Words Of Wisdom’, ‘Let Go’ and ‘Life Is Not That Serious’. From this he soon went on to study his passion at the amazing university named “Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance”. This is where all the real learning and character building started with Devan. He slowly started to turn into the vocalist and music producer he had always dreamed of being. It’s said that Devan Wright is now working on a project called ‘Real Life’. This project includes 6 different songs all about different stages in peoples life.
