Born in Santos (SP-BRAZIL), Carla Mariani won the Brazilian Music Pro Award 2020/2021 in the Blues category. Being a big fan of the greatest blues and jazz singers, such as Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Big Mama Thornton and Bessie Smith, her original songs are influenced by Jazz and Blues, but as a Brazilian woman, she brings a whole new accent to these music styles. She has performed on big stages and festivals, such as Virada Cultural Paulista, Bourbon Street, Blues na Montanha, Coliseum Theater (Rio-Santos Jazz Fest - UNESCO), Santos Jazz Festival, among others. She always likes to remember her audience that Blues and Jazz are much more than just music. They are a social movement. Carla has been writing songs since 2015! In 2017 she released “Time”, her first EP. In 2018, she wrote “At Last”, her first single, followed by “Sweet little angel” (2019), “Sweet hazel eyes” (2020) and “Gloomy Days” (2020). In 2021, she decided to make “Locked Inside”, an EP with 4 tracks about feelings and sensations we’ve experienced in Covid-19. Her latest work is “Introducing CM Quartet”, her first album, that was released in 2022 and talks about doing what we like and following our dreams by being who we really are.
