It's also clear that the Tucson, Arizona-raised emcee/singer has continued to refine his direction and delivery, while maintaining the lyrical complexity that has always been his staple. Featuring production from Danny Mac (formerly D. BOY), Joseph Dreams, Emot!on, and Technology Beats, 'The Storm' is a complete story from start to finish, exploring volatile relationships, social unrest, and a global pandemic, and weaving them all together seamlessly. The album employs the talents of multiple other artists, including Mari the 5th, SàenZ, AdvoKate, and others, and spans the spectrum of hip-hop and R&B, from hard-hitting lyrical rap verses to whispery, haunting singing performances. Live instrumentation mixed with post-modern production make the sounds both current and nostalgic at once. As vulnerable and honest as he's ever been, it becomes clear in listening that Chad has been through a lot in the last few years, as have so many of us. Impressively, in 'The Storm', he is at his absolute best - mature, introspective, and powerful - a testament to growth and perseverance.
