Born and raised in London in a Colombian household, Milena Sanchez’s infatuation with music sprouted from a young age. At 25, Milena started a podcast along with 3 other members. Taking over the internet with their spiralling success for seven years, The Receipts Podcast became the first women of colour to be No.1 in the BBC Sounds Podcast, as well as Sunday Times best-selling authors with their book ‘Keep the Receipts’. Hosting a series of sold-out shows in the London Palladium and Dalston’s Earth venue twice, the girls garnered substantial press support nationwide. Over several years, her passion for music was becoming unstoppable. Milena took the courageous leap to leave the podcast and decided to give her life-long dream of becoming an artist her full attention. July 2024, she released her highly anticipated EP. Milena continues to build an authentic connection with her audience as she details several life experiences that feed into female empowerment. “I talk a lot in this EP about being in a queer relationship and loving women. I think it’s so beautiful to be able to represent that community. For me, this EP is more than just a body of music, it’s my lived experiences and gives women that push to live life how they want to live no matter what society’s pressures bring.“ Pushing women to live in their whole entirety, Milena Sanchez aims to empower listeners to be themselves and live life to its fullest.
