Biography

Leandro Kalén (1985, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine multi-instrumentalist musician living in Banfield, Buenos Aires. He studied at EMPA, Escuela Sónica, and with Gustavo Liamgot, Rosario Bléfari, Pauline Oliveros, and Osvaldo Fattoruso among others. He has composed original music for videogames, movies and theater plays. He has also released 4 albums: Mecánica Celeste (2015, Pai Records), Construcciones (2018), Screenshot (2019, Aural Films) and La Música del Tren (2022, Club del Disco). He actively participates (in more than 150 albums) as a producer, composer, arranger, instrumentalist and singer in recording sessions and concerts with different artists of the Argentine and international milieu. He has produced installations, events and concept albums such as "Above and Below, the music of Allan Holdsworth" (2022, Art of Life Records). His musical work is marked by a unique and powerful contemporary reading of universal popular music leaving ample room for improvisation. In that sense rock, pop, jazz, folk and experimental music intertwine together with his constant research and reinterpretation of the cultural heritage.
