Biography

Once the quintessential teen idol, Khalil has established himself as an iconic name among R&B superfans through working with industry luminaries like Justin Bieber, Usher, and White Iverson Producer Rex Kudo. Rising beyond his humble beginnings in a Sacramento foster home, Khalil was discovered in 2009 on YouTube by then Island Def Jam Chairman and mastermind behind the likes of Rihanna and Fall Out Boy, LA Reid. He was instantly signed to a record deal at the age of 13. While signed to Teen Island, Khalil released two singles including “Girlfriend Ringtone,” which was penned by Sean Garrett, the writer behind Run It by Chris Brown and Yeah by Usher, and “Hey Lil Mama,” ft Lil Twist which charted #5 on 106 & Park and spent 13 weeks on Billboard’s “Bubbling Under” chart. Khalil formed a close friendship with Justin Bieber during his Def Jam era which grew into Bieber signing Khalil to a record deal. There he released the star-studded “Long Story Short” mixtape on Soundcloud with production credits from legends like Mike Dean and DJ Mustard and features from Birdman, Tory Lanez, as well as two standout songs with Justin Bieber- ‘Playtime’ and “Time for Bed’. Khalil is truly a rare talent. From opening in stadiums for Usher on his OMG tour and hosting 106 & Park to amassing almost 16M streams on his two independent singles “Quality” and “Simple,” the next chapter is set to take the world by storm.
