Biography

Sigleif (Craig Ellis) is a hip-hop artist born from Lowestoft, England whose lyrical style can only be described as "dark". As a one-man band for production and song-writing, his scope focuses on mixing various elements of hip-hop, trap, punk rock and metal to curate a sound less heard for his often polarising lyrical content. Born on the cusp of the new millenium in 1997, Craig developed a love of music at a young age, with dreams of performing stemming from before he could remember. Innately drawn to the often gritty, introspective and dark storytelling of rap music as a whole, Craig found escape through the genre during his high school adolescence. He would later describe the music as a coping mechanism for his mental difficulties and struggling with social interaction in general. With his first major release, Come Nearer releasing at midnight on the halloween of 2019, Craig continues to release music under his rap persona Sigleif. Whilst his music can generally be described as disturbed, it cannot be so easily summarised on a larger scale. Commonly, his lyrical themes cover more controversial subject matter; spanning from his deepest and most dark sexual fantasies, gruesome and vivid murder scenes, his battles with mental illness and everything inbetween. Regardless of the lyrical content however, there remains one constant throughout his music; Sigleif draws inspiration from a well of uncomfortable, taboo matter that most would be too afraid or ashamed to discuss.
