Kanav Kochhar, aka NAV, hailing from Ludhiana, India, is a driving force in Toronto's hard techno scene. Immigrating to Canada, NAV founded The Industry Entertainment in January 2022. Since then, the collective has rapidly gained traction, revitalizing the city's techno circuit with its unmissable shows. Inspired by the unique hard techno scenes in Europe, particularly Blackworks and Unreal Germany, NAV channels these influences into his work. He has appreciations for hard-techno, schranz, and hypnotic, drawing inspiration from artists like Klangkuenstler, Basswell, Shlømo, Chlär, Regent, Michael Klein, Frazi.er, Linear Systems. As an artist, NAV has released notable tracks such as "Suffocate" on The Industry Records, "Antidote" on Black Turtle Records, collaboration with Antonio Fornieles titled "Mantra." While he has other releases, these remain his favourite, with another EP currently in the works. NAV is determined to bring all forms of techno—both slow and fast—to the forefront, reflecting his deep appreciation for varied sounds in his promotion efforts. He chose to become a DJ to enhance his skills as a promoter, believing that having a good ear and taste in music and artists is key to success. With a vision to continue growing The Industry Entertainment and his own musical career, NAV remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of techno in Toronto and beyond.
