Biography

Hypaveli, born Siphokuhle Mfundo Jantjie on the 9th of December 1999, is a South African hip hop artist from the city of Kempton Park, Gauteng. The rapper first gained recognition when he was featured in an article on newspapers ‘Kempton Express' and ‘The Tembisan' due to his involvement in a charity drive for children at Tshepang Care Centre in Vusumuzi, Tembisa on the 1st of December 2018. The rapper has close ties with Roccodom, another rap artist and together along with their manager they founded Trap Villain Entertainment, a movement aimed at uplifting the youth interested in being entertainers or working with entertainers and helping them network with each other while building something bigger than the east of Gauteng. This movement led to Hypaveli also getting featured on a Sportscene blog for some of his efforts as an independent and upcoming artist. Siphokuhle Mfundo “Hypaveli” Jantjie is in actual fact, a film & television graduate from the Multiversity of AFDA in Johannesburg and incorporates a lot of it in his music as he edits, grades and directs some of his visuals. He thereafter caught the real buzz when releasing his debut single Surf, and released a music video directed by Morale Pablo Phala along with the single. Shedding light on his struggles as an upcoming rapper and the relationship he has with his mother, Hypaveli's music is a mixture of raw bars and wordplay along with a very melodic sound, promising the birth of a new generation of artists in Africa.
