Singer-songwriter Chels Fuego, born Chelsea Amber Dolores, has been singing for virtually as long as she could talk. The Jersey City, New Jersey native began performing for friends and family at the age of four, and already knew by the time her family left for Las Vegas just a few years later, that music was her calling. By age twenty, Chels had gained recognition for her unique ability to write, produce, and sing at a high level, but it was a 2017 incident resulting in a severe knee injury that led Chels to pursue music full-time. A long road to recovery, compounded by an ill-timed breakup, marked a difficult period in the singer’s life. So naturally, she turned to music. It was during her recovery, while still in a wheelchair, that Chels released Backseat. This sultry single received an overwhelmingly positive response and eventually fell upon the ears of up & coming Vegas acts, Itsrayiguess and Teej who both reached out offering assistance in her music career. A budding friendship among the trio led to the introduction of recording engineer, SoundbyDawsøn, who ultimately became the driving force behind the recording of Chels’ music. For Chels, her music is the culmination of a challenging, yet rewarding journey in which she overcame injury, adversity and heartbreak.
