Few labels can define El Chino. He's an artist and producer with a primarily west coast sound similar to that of artists like Dr. Dre and Kurupt, but as soon as you think that's all his sound is, he flips it to a Cumbia, Ballad, Trap, and whatever else has a "funky rhythm or can touch your heart." He's the son of immigrants half Salvadorean and half Malaysian but due to growing up primarily with the Latin side which lived in Los Angeles, California before moving to Knoxville, Tennessee, El Chino grew up with heavy influence from Latin culture, LA culture, American culture, and hints of his more distant Asian culture. Born Alejandro Nuila, he got into music out of curiosity sparked by his aunt who used to be a DJ. He started out as a DJ like his aunt in 9th grade until moving on to music production a few months later then rapping and producing his own songs a year later with the goals of showing his diverse culture, giving his listeners a message, and leading his family to the better life they dreamed of. He vowed to keep his music true to himself only bending as far as personal experience and situations would let him, hence his "clean" lyrics and relatable lines. He is currently enrolled at Belmont University for a Music Business degree and hopes to grow his music through songs built for quality over quantity, plenty of shows to put out his name, and connections that can help him break into a field with so few artists like him.
