G 5aby has got something to say. In his music, the Atlanta-born rapper speaks on the trials and tribulations of life as an underdog with clarity, charisma, and confidence. At the same time, his dynamic voice flips like a switchblade between deft bars and hypnotically haunting melodies. He paints a real-life picture in hopes to quietly lead by example and uplift those around him. Born and raised in King County, Georgia, hip-hop only played a minor role in G 5aby's youth. Despite listening to the likes of Young Jeezy, The Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac, he primarily focused most of his attention in baseball. However, his younger brother Ricky constantly encouraged him to rhyme. Sometimes, he'd humor Ricky with a freestyle at home, but it never went beyond that. Everything changed in 2019, when Ricky passed away and sent G 5aby's world into a tailspin. "I was just a thug at the time," he sighs. "When my brother ended up dying, I had to rap, because he wanted me to and I wanted to honor him." 
 June Jonez of Executive Decisions, had moved him down to Miami where Cash Money Records co-founder and GRAMMY Award-nominated rap icon Bryan "Birdman" Williams had taken a liking to him. "There's a lot of pain and truth in G 5aby's music," states Birdman. "You can tell how honest it is. That honesty is what inspired me. I know he's going to be a voice for this generation, and we're going to give him the platform to do so."
