Aleksi Eeben released his latest album Dandelion in digital music stores, streaming services and as a small batch of CD's on 14th December 2021. Dandelion is wayward fairy tale music for grown-ups and misfits, always seeking for beauty. Dandelion blooms with graceful, lingering melodies, inspiring harmonies and film score like moments. For this album, Aleksi mentions Einojuhani Rautavaara, Johanna Juhola, Erik Satié and Pekka Pohjola as his main influences. The fantasy game soundtracks by Koji Kondo may pop in mind too, and you may also hear faint traces of chip music, the beeping of antique game consoles. In addition to electric bass, remote-operated electromechanical solenoid Disklavier grand piano and Koistinen electric kantele the album features a number of other instruments, electronic rhythms and streams of arpeggios. The music challenges the listener, but just in a mellow way, gently pushing them.
