Biography

MILLICENT, more commonly known as Millie Weaver, fluctuates from writing acoustic pop ballads to lo-fi dream-pop hooks, simultaneously fine-tuning and evolving her sound, with no barrier to which ever artistic direction she chooses. Sharing her parents' taste for artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush and Sheryl Crow; Keane, Snow Patrol and Green Day; MILLICENT's list of influences then grew from her own exploration of other people and their influences, with the root of her lyricism stemmimg from self-reflection, depersonalisation & derealisation, and communicating with inner voices of conflict. Born and raised in Preston (Lancashire), MILLICENT became a local name having scoured the town's open mic night circuit with other local names such as David Shurr, Matthew Gallagher, Meraki Ghosts and Audrey's Dance. MILLICENT made herself known with her appearance on ITV's The Voice UK in 2017, performing Where Is My Mind? by Pixies and a duet of My Favourite Game by The Cardigans. The following year in 2018, she released her debut EP 'Senses', with a music video to her single track Acid Eyes, which featured on BBC Introducing Lancashire
