Relatively seasoned on the Canadian folk and coffeehouse folk circuit, this "chick singer and songwriter" studied piano as an early child. Learning her craft slowly while also participating in other creative projects, including puppetry, she was a member of Chesterfield Inlet, a pop/folk/jazz group who released Mario Russell in 1995.
