Reviews “Colossal” is the latest single by Cardiff based producer songwriters “From Humans to Hydra”. One thing that’s noticeable about the song is how composition wise it packs a REAL punch. Synths, heavy bass and edgy guitars with lyrics of reaching the top. It has a positive vibe and features impressive vocals with the simple but effective chorus of “And this could be colossal”. The feeling I get from the track is never give up, look to the future there are bigger and better things coming on a “colossal” scale. There seems to be a lot of emotion and thought put into it despite the length being only 2 minutes and 49 seconds. I’m not fully familiar with From Humans to Hydra, but was genuinely surprised on first listen – the song is outstanding! There is a much quieter middle section with a simple guitar riff and lyrical theme switching from “you start a war you start a riot” “This is a warning this is a broadcast” to “I feel calm washing over me and I’m lost in summer” before building back up to the heavy electronic chorus. Although the song is short, it’s quite effective boasting the sound of a big production. I actually quite like the track, it most definitely stands out.
