Anastasia Moutsatsou was born in 1961 in the countryside area of Lakonia, Greece where she learned traditional Greek songs from her mother. At age 15 she moved to Athens and began taking singing and guitar lessons. In 1982 Anastasia started performing publicly alongside noted Greek singer Glikeria. Her first record came out in 1992 and was followed by “Mistika Simadia” in 1994, which received acclaim from critics and audiences alike and cemented her as one of the most promising singers of her field. In the ensuing years came world tours alongside the top Greek artists of the day such as Haris Alexiou, Giorgos Dalaras, Pantelis Thalassinos while in 1998 Anastasia released her fourth studio album for which she was credited as a cowriter for the first time in her career. 2001 saw the release of the live album “Anastasia Moutsatsou – Marina Skiadaresi / LIVE” which went gold in both Greece and Cyprus. Collaborations with many other notable Greek artists followed as well as appearances in successful plays and stage shows. Anastasia released a new studio album in 2020 titled “Ap’to Melon ki ap’to Parelthon” while she was also part of the highly successful “Agries Melisses” soundtrack accompanying the hit Greek TV series, alongside composer Alex Sid and lyricist Urania Patelli. The pair have continued their collaboration in a traditional ethnic song for the most expensive TV series ever filmed in Greece, “Magissa”.
