"Simple But Hard"- That's the motto when it comes to making beats for reasonable (aka Donald James) who is a sample-based music producer from Los Angeles that got his "start" on the beats as a teenager with the Playstation game MTV Music Generator. It wasn't until 2010 that he actually decided to learn, after a suggestion from his friend and long-time collaborator Darrell Coley (aka Self-O.N.E.) that he should, after James would send Coley industry producer instrumentals for Coley to rap on. reasonable decided to cut his teeth on the music producer grind until 2015, when he gave it all up after both having a child & being discouraged at a lack of motion. It wasn't until after sitting at home during Summer 2020 that he started having serious thoughts about coming back, and in Jan 2021 decided to restart the beatmaker grind after a 5 year hiatus. After spending all of 2021 figuring out and re-defining his sound, reasonable has been locked in and on his way up since. Having produced records for artists such as Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, J. Stone, Sir Michael Rocks, Trademark Da Skydiver, and many others, reasonable is poised to continue his ascension through the ranks with his sample heavy production that can be described as "the perfect intersection between Trap & Boom Bap". Citing some of his biggest influences as Timbaland, Alchemist, J. Dilla, Shawty Redd & 9th Wonder, reasonable hopes to be able to put his name next to theirs in terms of impact on the hip-hop genre.
