Biography

A North Carolina native and Texas raised musician, Tahjai blossomed between multiple outlets of music. Even before being able to walk, her infatuation with choreography in music videos and her dad’s production of beats all influenced her interest in music. It wasn’t until her later years that she decided to pursue a career to convey a meaningful message for all. Tahjai initiated her career early, constructing her first body of work (2012) when she had just graduated high school. Since then, she has been featured on Justified ForevHer’s song “Overtime” on the Premonitions of Granduer album. In addition, she has worked with many established and upcoming artists including Houston natives Johnny Blaze, Dice Soho, and Trill Sammy to name a few. She sculpts her music to incorporate various interests of people. To her, it is fundamental that everyone is comfortable expressing their individuality. Through her music, people would find that spark of authenticity. To support her push for authenticity, she writes her own music so people could feel her true emotions through her bodies of work. Her major influences range from the uniqueness of Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes to the creativity of modern day Tierra Whack. With the fusion of these, her unique sound has taken her to the stage of House of Blues in New Orleans where she has sprinkled her distinctive sound.
