Musician and musicologist from Messina, Longo studied historically informed violin with many famous musicians, in particular Luigi Rovighi at the historical Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna. He has published papers, lexical entries, articles and critical editions regarding the music of the 17th and 18th centuries for Di Nicolò Libri, SMSP, Walhall, Ut Orpheus, Arcana, Ambronay’s, Dramaturgias and Treccani, and has recorded for SMSP, Raidue, Raitre, Mediaset, MTV, Teatro di Messina, Radio Classic, Ambronay’s and Tactus. He collaborates with various Early Music ensembles, such as Cappella Mediterranea, Orchestre Baroque de Nice, Orchestra Barocca di Bologna, Ensemble Phoenix, and Modo Antiquo, and often appears as soloist for important associations.
