Passionate about music since a very young age, Gandhaar has been working as a composer for more than 18 years. He has worked on many feature films like ‘Postcard’, ‘Avatarachi Goshta’ and ‘Baapajanma’ along with Albums, Commercial and Experimental Plays, over a dozen odd Short Films and a handful of jingles for various advertisements. In his debut film 'Postcard', he worked with stalwarts like Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurti and Nandini Srikar. In his second film as a composer, he worked with Shaan. 'Geli 21 Varsha', a play that he composed music for, has been selected for International Theatre Festivals in Italy. He has composed tracks for ‘Sangeet Saunshaykallol’ and ‘Sangeet Manapman’ produced by Rahul Deshpande. He has more than 50 plays to his credit in Marathi, Hindi, and English. Having received formal training of Sitar from Pt.Shekhar Ranade helped him to gain a strong Indian classical base and which in turn helped him to explore a wide variety of musical genres like semi-classical, Bollywood, dubstep, Western, trance, hip-hop, fusion, acapella, OSTs and so on. He has received many nominations and awards as a composer for his debut film ‘Postcard’; prominently at MICTA Awards, Zee Gaurav Awards and has won the Best Singer award at Chitrapadarpan Awards. He was nominated at Filmfare Awards for Best Background Score.
