After being inspired to sing from meeting his wife, a writer, author and poet by the name of Daishaundra Nychole, Bryan Christopher Hearne returned to music after a brief hiatus with a soulful R&B sound with a rough edge as Chauncey Bass; A sweet voice with deep rap and poetry that speaks a message about "Lxve, by any means necessary". The message has spread worldwide and has earned him a Martin Luther King Spirit Award. On September 21, 2018, Hearne released his first extended play as Chauncey Bass titled Summer's Not Over Til We Say. The project, which is yeilded by the self-produced single Darling, featuring his son Ezra Bryan Hearne, came just one month after Bryan's wedding with Daishaundra, and the meaning of the EP has been rumoured to be about the couple's honeymoon, which gives new definition to the tagline "summer is a state of mind". January 9th, 2019 marked the release of Chauncey Bass' first album, an 8 song project called No Trap, No Fear, produced solely by Chicago super producer Cj TheFlii. Much like the Summer EP, the project is inspired by Hearne's marriage. NTNF showcased a new, darker side of Bass, with a few Bonnie and Clyde references, while still showcasing his aim on the importance of Lxve. And in July of 2020, Chauncey released the "I Won't Move" EP, a 'pre' to his upcoming untitled album set for release in 2022. The groundbreaking EP earned Hearne a great deal of recognition, including an MLK Spirit Award in the state of Washington.
