My Name is Julia Lauber. I’m 19 and from the deepest of forests, the Black Forest in Germany. I’m a one-woman band trying to make music sound great with one guitar, one piano and one voice. I started playing piano at the age of 7 and guitar later at 17. I also took voice coaching lessons over two years which has made a big difference. Since I discovered that a piano and my voice sound great together, I’m writing my own songs. What I really love about song writing is that I’m able to say everything, especially where words alone are just not enough and say it in such an emotional way which would never be possible without music. I'm always hoping that the melody I'm singing weaves itself into the listener's heart, making them think about what they have just heard. I’m often writing about current and emotive issues that are happening in the world, about issues and problems people are used to but forget the moment they’ve dropped from the news. It’s so important that we all stand up for each other and see that there is a need for help and what we can do about it – because there is a lot people can do, every day to make the world a bit better! Music is my passion and my life at same time, but it's not only that. It's a big deal to me, maybe one of the only ways to connect people with each other, to talk about important stuff and just to be heard!
