After releasing 2 mixtapes and 4 albums, DL is working on new material that represents the totality of his life’s experiences. He has always focused more on what he references as Hip Hop Soul to get him through life’s challenges. Hip Hop Soul is Soul music that sticks to your ribs and stays with you well after your initial feeding. “Dear Mama”, “Song Cry”, “Sky’s the Limit”, “Cleaning out my Closet”, “Daughters”, “Blue Laces 2” to name a few. English has always been his favorite subject throughout High School and there has always been an affinity for the plethora of words and variations of pronunciations and even words having double entendre. His high school English teacher always advised “never waste words”, “skip the fluff” and he has always tried to follow those instructions. A native of Boston, Roxbury to be exact, Daniel Laurent made his mixtape debut in 2005 with “Can’t Get A Break”, a 14 track expression of the lack of opportunities, support and infrastructure for emerging artists. He had commercially released beats as well as originals to fill the project and introduced himself in the Boston market as a contender. His standout hit single “MASSterpiece (The Anthem)” , often referred to as The Cheers Song, was his homage to where he was from and the place where he made his bones. With being a SAG registered actor as well, DL is focused on entertaining and bring creativity, passion and inspiration to the public.
