Zèra is a neosoul songstress who pools inspiration from 2000s and alternative R&B, jazz and hiphop to create an original sonic landscape. She writes songs composed of lush melodic freestyles and lyricism pulling from her life experiences, sensuality, and pure feeling. Born in Montreal, Canada to Italian and Kurdish parents, she blends both English and French in her music to create a multicultural sound. Zèra has since moved to London, UK to pursue a PhD in psychology whilst also performing across the underground UK music scene. She has performed at many venues and festivals such as Montreal’s International Jazz Festival, the Hip Hop You Don’t Stop Festival, and other venues in London. She has hosted and organised events to give back to the UK hiphop community such as her Zèra & Friends pop up in Oxford Circus. With her music, Zèra aims to create a space in which everyone is safe to freely feel a wide range of emotions.
