Hailing from Nottingham, England, bedroom producer Philip George quit his two part-time jobs to pursue a career in music after releasing "Wish You Were Mine," which charted in the U.K. Top Ten at the end of 2014 and went on to reach number two in the first singles chart of 2015. George regularly uploaded his garage-influenced house music to streaming websites, but it was "Wish You Were Mine" -- which used a Stevie Wonder sample from "My Cherie Amour" -- that began to pick up traction among the online community. It was eventually released as a single by dance label 3 Beat in the final week of 2014 and went straight into the U.K. Top Ten. By late 2015, George had scored his second Top Ten U.K. hit single with the Anton Powers collaboration "Alone No More." ~ Scott Kerr
