Agregat was formed in the hallways at the University of Oslo, where a Pet Shop Boys coffee cup ignited a discussion about which was best of the above mentioned and Depeche mode. We have never agreed which is really the best of the two, but inspired by bands such as The Cure, Kraftwerk, New Order and a range of other synthpop, new wave and post punk icons, Agregat has developed a sound that first and foremost is the sound of Agregat. Agregat’s music has found its way to the more or less obscure outskirts of European culture. From various dance performances in Bosnia, via Norwegian Broadcasting to underground synth scenes in Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Croatia and even Norway. The debut album Agregat Salutes You (2009) got the following characteristics: ’Suitable for those who have already taken a step beyond the conventional concept of futuristic pop’.
