Formally performing by the name JUNIORYEAR in 2019 before rebranding, Norfolk, VA-based artist sportgoth brings in at times spacey and other times punchy vocals and exciting yet haunting takes on the hip-hop genre. Inspired by Chief Keef, Raider Clan, the explosive 2016 era of hip hop, and music and melodies from GameBoy/DS games growing up, sportgoth's taste in production and attention to detail have shaped him into an artist set on carving something new in the genre. From hope to hopelessness, no atmosphere goes uncharted in his pocket dimension of music. He, Traci Morgue, and PsychCentral founded the collective and music group Ghost Armor in 2022, further solidifying their influence on the genre and the local scene.
