Jon R. Mohr writes music to inspire those who want to bring to life images and emotions that once vanished into time, to give soul and color to every new day. Jon is an award-winning composer and producer from Troy, Ohio specializing in film and video game scores, as well as production music. He has composed for a variety of short films, of which have gone to compete on the national and international level in Seattle and Lisbon respectively. He also writes and produces trailer music for the Hypersonic Music label of UPM, and has had his music featured in promotions on the Discovery Channel, CBS Sports, ESPN, and Eurosport. Jon is also the lead orchestrator of the progressive gothic metal band Exsomnis. In January 2023, Jon participated in the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive as an Auditor to enhance his composition and orchestration skills, and learn conducting for recording sessions. In August 2023, participated in the Joy Music House Score Production Workshop as an Auditor to learn about the logistics of preparing and running a recording session. Jon draws inspiration from a variety of genres like extreme metal, trap, orchestral music, and jazz. His strongest orchestral inspirations come from James Newton Howard, John Powell, and Thomas Bergersen. He draws further inspiration from eclectic groups like Mr. Bungle and Ween to marry his proclivity for orchestral and weird, genre-bending music to create more unique works.
