Biography

Ollie Bown and Sam Britton are cousins who've been making stuff with sound for as long as they can remember. Once described by a magazine as "idiots savant who have arrived at a rollicking approximation of post-Darmstadt electronica by accident" it was however their intuiting of a doppelgänger for John Cage's 'Water Walk' on kitchen utensils, aged 7 that really got them started. Fast forward a decade and, having cruelly been born too late for the 'Second Summer of Love', Ollie and Sam found solace in chopping up breakbeats and avant-garde records by exotic sounding European composers to create their first pieces of 'Jungle in the style of Trommelgeflüster; for numerous London based independent record labels around the turn of the millennium. Brim-full of kudos but short on rent, they headed for the sunny shores of academia. Along the route to PhDs they experimented with designing autonomous software that improvised with human musicians and also released 1000 hours of parametrically composed 'Conceptronica' ... Of recent the 15,000km distance between the two has slowed their collaboration (although there's plenty of musical life that involves them both individually to soak up (see Tangents, Fiium Shaarrk, Leverton Fox & Isambard Khroustaliov).
