Biography

Born in Chicago’s Southside, Darus Clark was introduced to hip-hop at a very young age, through listening to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s, “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang,” at age four. At age six, Clark’s mother moved him and his siblings to Michigan for a job opportunity, and a safer place to call home. Clark began writing his own lyrics in grade six as a way to release his emotions. But it wasn’t until his senior year of high school, after having an inspiring talk with a teacher that he moved to the next level of recording. Clark released his first EP, “It’s Not a Dream,” in April of 2013. Clark dropped his first album, “P.S: F**k You,” on November 24, 2016. In January 2017, Clark's album won Akademia's hip-hop album of the year award, calling it "a genre wake-up call in itself." Jamsphere reviewed the album and called it a 'masterpiece'; "From the instrumentals to the lyrics, Clark exhibits the pure reverence for life and love it exhibits. The album infuses a modern style with an old school vibe and Darus Clark's classic view on the beauty and pain of the daily human struggles." Clark dropped the EP, “P.S. I Love Me,” on Valentine’s Day of 2018. The EP is a spin-off from Clark’s “P.S. F**K You” album, which was a statement piece derived from a darker place. “P.S. I Love Me” is the aftermath of looking such personal struggles in the eye and triumphing as a result of remaining true to oneself. Clark does not shy away from substantial content matter that relates to every audience.
