JACOB MÜHLRAD is a celebrated Swedish art music composer, born 1991, who has rapidly emerged as one of the most recognizable composers in Europe. Mühlrad's latest release, Time received a 5-star BBC Music Magazine review. He’s been described as "one of the world's best, most imaginative, orchestral composers". Mühlrad collaborated with soloists, such as Martin Fröst and Johannes Rostamo and experimented together with the Swedish House Mafia and Silvana Imam. His track, One Symphony, with the Swedish House Mafia shook both the electronic and classical music circles. Mühlrad has written extensively for chamber ensembles and orchestras as well as theatre and film. The pieces like Viola’s theme, The Sister and Sea Report Chorus were composed for the theatre play Tröstrapporter, written by Alex Schulman, and received acclaim both on stage and as stand-alone works of art. Through choral music, he has been able to achieve a unique expression of the mystical aspect of Jewish tradition. Kaddish holds a deeply personal connection to the composer, it tells the story of his grandfather's survival of the Holocaust. This selection of Mühlrad's award-winning choir music, Time, performed by the Swedish Radio Choir was released on the Deutsche Grammophon label. In 2022 Mühlrad was signed to Warner, and his new album, Burn All My Letters (Music For The Motion Picture), composed as the soundtrack to the film directed by Björn Runge, is out in December via Warner Classics.
